Historical Stamp Album Pages for the Channel Islands
When the British General Post Office became a public corporation in 1969, the Channel Islands, part of the United Kingdom located in the English Channel, were given the opportunity to start releasing their own stamps. Prior to that time, British stamps had been used on the Islands, though beginning in 1958, distinctive regulars had been issued for Guernsey and Jersey. The baliwick of Guernsey has a total area of 30 square miles and is comprised of the islands of Guernsey, Sark, Alderney, Jethou, Herm and Lithou.
